Joanna Ortynska is a children's book author who lives in Madison, New Jersey, with her son. Their lives changed dramatically when they lost Alfredo, a phenomenal husband and dad, to cancer in 2022. Through her books , Joann a aims to help children understand cancer and its treatments, so they can face this challenging journey with hope, courage, and love. She believes in the power of storytelling to bring comfort and clarity, and she hopes her books provide both to children navigating difficult times.

When she is not writing, Joanna juggles work, tries to keep up with her son’s school and activities, and loves to travel and explore new places.

Joanna’s work is inspired by the strength of her family and the love that continues to guide them on their journey.
